Kid Says Man Tried To Coax Her Into Car

At 2:230 pm, a girl contacted officers to report a man in a silver car kept trying to get her to get into his vehicle. She said the man didn’t say anything to her, just kept waving her over to his vehicle.

An officer attempted to speak to the man, but he was mute and could not respond. The officers said the man appeared to understand what he was saying. Police advised the man to leave the girl alone. She made it back to her home safely.

Ex Cause Phone Drama

Officers responded to High Street at 5 pm to speak with a woman with a complaint about her ex. She said she got drunk and passed out while her former girlfriend visited. While she was out, her ex went through her phone and retrieved some photos she shouldn’t have in her possession.

She claimed the ex was not suggesting she could make money with the images if she posted them. The photos have not yet been posted anywhere. She wanted to document the incident.

Thief in a Trench Coat Targets Kroger

Officers responded to Kroger just after 8 pm for a report of a shoplifter. A man wearing a trench coat and hat stole multiple items from the store and fled to Tracy Park.

The manager said they spotted the man putting multiple items in a cart at the side of a building. She sent a bagger to get a picture of him, but once he realized they were on to him, he ran. However, the cart locked up, so he grabbed a bag of items and ran towards the park.

Officers advised the store to come up with a list of what was missing and file a report.

Threatening Behavior

A local rehab facility contacted police to report a man had left the facility and threatened to burn down his ex’s home. Police asked the Sheriff’s Office to send a unit to the woman’s West Portsmouth home.

The man also left behind his medication.

Under the Influence

Officers responded to Royce Street for an overdose at 10 pm. The man told police he’d snorted heroin. Portsmouth Ambulance medics administered Narcan to revive him and transported him to the hospital.

Dude, Where’s My Car?

A vehicle owner contacted officers at 1 am to report their car stolen from the parking lot at Frank & Steins Lounge.

After searching for a couple of hours, officers discovered the driver had merely parked in the parking lot of another bar. The vehicle was not missing. Just misplaced.
