Gloria J. Bocook

Gloria J. Bocook, 76, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side.  She was born February 13, 1948, in Portsmouth to the late Alva and Edna (Owsley) Taylor.  Gloria was a 1966 graduate of Glenwood High School in New Boston.  She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family.  She also loved listening to music.

Gloria is survived by two sons, Sammy Bocook Jr. and longtime girlfriend Rikki of Wheelersburg and Bobby Bocook and wife Angela of Franklin Furnace; two daughters, Beth Smith and husband Ed of Pekin, IN, and Amy Williams and husband Tom of Portsmouth; a sister, Kim Huddleston and husband Jim of Columbus; sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Joe Bocook; a brother, Roger Taylor; and two sisters, Judy Coe and Susan Reed.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg, with Pastor Chris Oiler officiating.  Interment will follow at Harrison Furnace Cemetery in Minford.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.  Online condolences may be left at DWSwickFuneralHome.com.
