A worried Elliot Road caller said he’d found a 7-year-old boy running around in the road. The caller said the child said he’d been in the woods but didn’t know where he lived. However, he was able to tell officers who his parents were.
The man who found the boy gave him a jacket and sandwich while waiting for police to arrive. The child’s father got there at the same time the police did.
The child had climbed the hillside behind his Wilson Avenue home and came out in the woods. Although he was less than two blocks from home, he wasn’t sure how to get back.
Officers advised the parents that it was very important for children to know their home addresses.
