Good neighbors sprang into action when an elderly Harrison Township man called for help.
Just after 10 am, a call came into the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office reporting an elderly Monroe Cemetery Road man calling for help from inside a house saying he couldn’t get up.
The rescue squad dispatched to the scene asked a sheriff’s deputy to assist them in gaining entry into the house. However, the squad called back seven minutes later saying that a deputy was no longer needed.
The man’s neighbors were able to get into the home so the squad could assist him.
Deputy Helps Homeless Woman in South Webster
A deputy came to the aid of a homeless woman just after 1 pm.
The woman called from a store on St. Rte. 140 in South Webster to say a man had threatened her. She was unsure if he was still around.
Deputies met with her at the store and transported her to a homeless shelter in Portsmouth.
