Grandma vs. Felon

Grandma vs. Felon

Just after 2 pm, a Portsmouth caller contacted police and claimed there was a convicted felon in her home who refused to leave. She also said he had guns and knives and had fled out the back window with a satchel that possibly contained weapons.

The man contacted officers shortly afterward and said the woman who made the original call had a gun and had threatened him with it.

When officers arrived on the scene, they learned it was a verbal dispute between a woman and her granddaughter’s boyfriend. The couple and their child lived in the home with the grandmother. The man had contacted his mother in another state to come to pick them up.

The grandmother contacted CPS, who sent a caseworker to check on the welfare of the child. Police said there wasn’t anything criminal happening, just adults who couldn’t get along. The grandmother wanted the boyfriend to leave and the granddaughter to stay, but she wouldn’t agree to that.

Police were called back to the scene just before 9 pm for an argument. The granddaughter and boyfriend took their clothes and left.
