A man called 911 around 4:30 pm after a child flagged him down on County Road 144 to ask for help. The 10-year-old said his grandfather had kicked him out of his car and left him by the side of the road. He said he’d tried to call his mother for help, but she wasn’t answering.
The Good Samaritan gave the boy a ride home. He said the grandfather was at the house and threatened to fight him. He said he left the home and called 911.

Officers contacted the boy’s mother, who said her husband was on the way to the grandfather’s house to pick up the boy. When officers headed to the grandpa’s home, he told them he’d left the boy in the road to teach him a lesson.
Police placed him under arrest for endangering children.
