Thousands of pounds of ground beef sold in Ohio, Kentucky, and six other states have been recalled. The government warns they may be contaminated with small bits of clear, thin plastic.

The 1lb, vacuum-packed packages of beef are from Pre Brands are labeled with “Pre 95% Lean/5% Fat Ground Beef and have a lot code of 0060, case code of 11402, and Use/Freeze By date of 01/31//2020 printed on the product label.
They also have EST.6916 printed on the right front side of the package.

The meat was shipped by the Aminty Packing Company in Chicago to stores in Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The issue came to the attention of Pre Brands when customers complained about finding clear, thin strips of plastic in the beef.

There have been no reports of injuries.

If you have the product, you’re urged to throw it out or return it to the place of purchase.
