Portsmouth police responded to multiple reports of people with guns at public housing complexes, but officers did not locate a firearm in any of the calls.
The first report came from Farley Square, where a caller said a teenager in a gray Ford Edge had pulled a gun on them.
Officers located the vehicle near Spectrum and conducted a traffic stop.
Police spoke with the young man, who was in the vehicle with his girlfriend and infant daughter.
After checking him and the vehicle, officers did not find a gun. The man, woman, and child were released at the scene.
Approximately 10 minutes later, police were called to Wayne Hills on Kendall Avenue for a report of a man in a white tank top carrying a black handgun.
When officers arrived, they did not find anyone with a gun.
Police said the report appeared to be based on third-party information, and the people in the area dispersed. Officers marked the call as unfounded.
About an hour later, police were called back to Kendall Avenue for a report of people arguing in front of an apartment, with a gun mentioned in the complaint.
However, officers said the caller was not actually on scene.
When police checked the area, they found no disturbance. People standing near the building said they had not seen or heard anything, and residents in the apartment said they were okay.
Officers also determined that call was unfounded.
No arrests were reported in connection with any of the gun complaints.
