What began as a report of a man harassing a woman at Clayton Court quickly escalated into a serious drug arrest after deputies arrived and uncovered far more than a domestic disturbance.
Officers were first called to Clayton Court after receiving a report that a man was harassing a woman. A short time later, a second 911 call came in from a neighbor reporting a man beating on a door and screaming at a female, raising concerns that the situation was escalating.
When deputies arrived on scene, they detained the man and, during the investigation, quickly located illegal drugs. Deputies also arranged to have the man’s vehicle towed, after discovering evidence that pointed to drug activity beyond simple possession.
Police arrested Jason Blair and booked him into the Scioto County Jail on multiple serious charges, including:
- Drug Trafficking
- Having a Hidden Compartment in a Vehicle
- Possession of Criminal Tools
- Drug Paraphernalia
Court records show Blair was scheduled for a preliminary hearing on New Year’s Eve. He is being held in jail under bond pending further court proceedings.
The case is another reminder that calls initially reported as domestic or harassment-related can sometimes uncover much larger criminal activity once officers arrive and begin investigating.
