Hattie Jane Brisker

Hattie Jane Brisker, 95, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, entered her heavenly home on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born on January 11, 1930, in Hillsdale, West Virginia, to the late Frank and Hattie Beamer O’Neill.

Hattie Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Hughferd Brisker; her sons, Alan Brisker of Wheelersburg and Geoffrey (Connie) Brisker of Minford; her granddaughter, Mamie Brisker Pettit; and her siblings, Ginny Smith, John William O’Neill, Anna Cole, Louise Sparks, Willa Gray Kanode, Mary Marshall O’Neill; her nephew, Billy Paschall, and her daughter-in-law, Cindy Brisker.

She is survived by her children, Marsha (Tony) McGinnis of Minford and Frederick Brisker of Wheelersburg; her daughter-in-law, Sandy Brisker of Wheelersburg; grandchildren, Carrie Purcell, Melissa (Todd) Cron, Miranda (Roger) Estep, Janelle (Nathaniel) Frazie, Hugh (Morgan) Brisker, Jacklyn Brisker, and Trae Brisker; great grandchildren, Ryan, JJ, Mychal, Taylor, Tyce, Kaylee (Austin), Riley, Ella, Ava, Carter, Colton, Cody, Hattie, Bradlee, Kollie, and Paisley; and great great granddaughters, Raelyn and Daphne. Also surviving are her siblings Marion Collins, Oren O’Neill, and Dorothy Cole.

Hattie Jane spent many years alongside Hughferd operating their dairy farm on Wheelers Mill Road. She was a woman of hard work and heart, finding joy in both her family and her community. An avid bowler, she also loved playing cards, shopping, watching movies, and traveling with friends and family – especially visiting family in Peters Mountain of West Virginia, a place she always called “home”.

Hattie Jane had a true gift in the kitchen, known for her amazing home-cooked meals that brought family together around the table. Hattie Jane also loved attending church and singing along to the hymns that brought her joy and peace. She rarely missed a ballgame when her grandchildren were playing, and some of her happiest moments were spent rocking her great-grandbabies.

She will be remembered for her humor, kindness, loyalty, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. Her legacy of love, hospitality, and devotion will continue to live on through her family.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the SOMC Hospice Center and National Church Residence Hospice for their kindness and care.
