Herman W. Potter, 80, of South Shore, KY., passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. He was born in Flatwoods, KY., on April 24, 1941, a son of the late Elmer and Mary Kirk Potter.
Herman was a retired welder. He loved farming, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister Nola; four brothers, Russell, Homer, Eugene, and Kenneth.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years Audrey Dalton Potter; one son, Herman Reed (Marybeth) Potter of South Shore, KY; two daughters, Leia (Mike) Meenach of Greenup, KY, and Terra Potter of South Shore, KY; one sister, Bernice Stephens of Greenup, KY; five grandchildren, Monica (Patrick Denny) Potter, Amy (Blake Jackson) Potter, Bethany (Eric) Weeks, Aaron (Brooke) Meenach and Jason (Jade Aveo) Meenach; seven great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Weeks, Chase Weeks, Ryleigh Weeks, McKenna Weeks, Harper Quillen, Lucas Meenach, and Joslyn “Sunshine” Meenach; special friends, Michael (Tracy) Billings and several other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral Services will be 1 P.M. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Morton-Hunt Family Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Rick Musser officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the funeral hour at 1 P.M.
