Herschell (Red) Stout, 82, of New Boston

Herschell (Red) Stout, 82 of New Boston passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021, at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born September 28, 1938, in Rushtown a son of the late Herschell and Alice (Brown) Stout.

He was retired from Osco Industries after nearly 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army, tank division, under President John F. Kennedy. Red attended the New Boston First Church of the Nazarene for many years. He loved to play guitar and wrote many songs.

Red is survived by his wife Bonnie, whom he married on July 22, 1966; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Keith Henson and a grandson Luke Henson all of New Boston; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jane and Joey Crabtree of Wellston and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Robert, Walter, and Harold Stout; three sisters, Louise Stout, Marcella Stromquist, and Alice Thacker.

Service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, February 18, 2021, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Mikeal Lanning officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park.
