Homeless Couple Raise a Ruckus at Hudson House

Portsmouth Police Officers responded to Hudson House just before 2 am after a caller reported a couple having a loud disturbance. The witness said the woman left the scene, but the man was in an apartment screaming at people.

Another caller told officers the female half of the disagreement was downstairs waiting near the door. When Officers arrived on the scene, they found the man to be combative, so they notified the Scioto County Jail there could be some trouble on the way

Officers learned the pair were homeless and had been married 25 years. The woman said the two got into an argument, and the man grabbed her purse and took off with it. She told PPD all she wanted was her purse back, and she didn’t want to press charges.

The man returned the woman’s purse, and officers dropped her off at another address.
