Homeless Man Nearly Hit By Car on Harding Avenue

Homeless Man Nearly Hit By Car on Harding Avenue

A troubled homeless man, who frequently keeps police busy narrowly missed being hit by a car at 2:30 pm.

A Portsmouth City Worker spotted the man in the middle of the road at Winchester and Harding Avenues. They said he was in the road and nearly got hit by cars on multiple occasions. Additionally, the troubled man was spotted digging up asphalt and trashing a vacant lot. An officer advised the man to stay out of the road.

As you’ll recall, the gentleman in question often keeps Portsmouth Police busy. He’s started fires on multiple occasions, and businesses often ask to have him removed after he sets up housekeeping on their property.

Last week a local coffee shop reported him for threatening an employee with a knife. He’s also contacted police on several occasions to report people for taking his shopping cart.

In those instances, officers have explained that since he took the cart from a store, he couldn’t report it stolen.
