Portsmouth police were called to Robinson Avenue after a homeless man reported that another man had threatened him and told him to “watch his back.”
The man told officers the dispute began after the other man allegedly tried to pressure him into using methamphetamine.
According to the report, the caller said he later ran into the man again, and that was when the warning was made.
The caller also claimed the man usually carries either a firearm in his backpack or a fixed-blade knife while walking around town. He further alleged the man is associated with the Gangster Disciples.
However, officers noted that some of the incidents the caller described had happened more than a month earlier. The only new allegation from that day was the “watch your back” comment.
Police advised the caller to stay away from the man and to contact officers again if there were any further problems.
No arrest was reported, and no charges were filed in connection with the complaint.
