Homeless Man Sexually Harasses Woman at the Pumps
A woman reported a case of sexual harassment at a gas station at the corner of 2nd and Washington. She said that while she was pumping gas Thursday morning, a man kept making sexual comments to her.
She described the man as dirty and said he appeared to be homeless. Though she didn’t want to file charges, she requested that police find the man and prevent him from bothering someone else.
Police searched the area but could not locate him.
Police Warn Mom For Leaving Kids Alone in Car
Portsmouth Police Officers responded to Robinson Avenue after a caller reported children left inside a vehicle alone. The caller said the vehicle was not running.
When police spoke to the mother, she said she had only gone inside for a minute.
Police warned the mom to take the kids with her inside the house and that there would be consequences if she left them alone again.
PPD Assists 2 Women with Mental Health Issues
Portsmouth Police Officers came to the aid of a troubled woman in the midst of a mental health meltdown just after 11 am.
The troubled woman was arrested just last week for the 14th time on charges of violating a protection order and criminal trespass.
A call came in that a woman was talking out of her head at 17th and Grandview. Officers could not locate the woman, but 20 minutes later, she turned up on Vermont Avenue. Witnesses said she was screaming about demons. An officer took her into custody and transported her to the hospital, where she was admitted for treatment.
Another report of a woman in crisis came in at 2 pm. A caller reported a blonde woman yelling and talking to herself near a local rehab center. She left the area before officers arrived.
Police returned to the rehab center just before 6 pm for a report of a woman in need of a mental health evaluation. An ambulance transported her to SOMC.
