We all know that our area is experiencing an ambulance shortage. Medical workers at SOMC called Portsmouth Police at 1 pm to report a patient they said was wrongly using medical resources.

They said a woman had been to the hospital three times that morning and used ambulances for transport frequently for unnecessary reasons. The staff gave officers the name of the patient.

The dispatch center referred the concerned staff to Job and Family Services and suggested that they make the agency aware of the problem.
