Hot Pursuit on US 23 – Suspect Tazed in Pond
Pike County law enforcement contacted Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies to let them know they were chasing a driver south on US 23, and he was refusing to stop.
OSP Troopers tossed out stop sticks near Cockrells Run and the vehicle went off the road. The driver took off on foot through a field and headed into a pond, where officers deployed a taser to bring him down. Officers sent for an ambulance to check the man out.
The man did not speak English, but dispatch contacted a bilingual corrections officer on the phone to assist with reading the suspect his rights.
Pike County Deputies took the man into custody.
