‘I’m Going to Kill Everyone’ — Walmart Disturbance Ends in Arrest

Walmart threats

A trip to Walmart took an alarming turn when a man allegedly began yelling that he was going to kill everyone and that their phones were going to “blow up.”

Lawrence County deputies responded to the South Point area Walmart after employees reported problems with Todd Stengel, who had actually been dropped off at the store by a deputy earlier.

Lawrence County deputies were called after employees reported a man causing problems inside and outside the business. A deputy had actually encountered the same man earlier and dropped him off at the store after he said he needed to go there.

Employees said the situation took a threatening turn when the man began yelling about killing people. One employee told deputies the man also said their phones were going to “blow up.”

By the time deputies arrived, the man had left the property on foot. They found him walking along the road a short distance away.

The report says the man continued yelling as deputies spoke with him. Employees told officers they wanted him formally barred from returning to the business.

Deputies arrested Stengel on charges of inducing panic and criminal trespass and transported him to the Lawrence County Jail
