Intoxicated Teen Fights Parents, Police

An intoxicated teen fought with her family and the police and a wanted man is caught in the act. We break down the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing.

Woman  Jumps From Truck

At 4:46 pm, a woman called the police crying and hung up several times.  A woman was observed jumping out of a pickup truck at 5th and Chillicothe. She was jumping up and down and crying.

When police spoke to the woman, they learned that the argument had been a verbal one. An officer took the woman home.

Cry For Help

At 7:38 pm, officers responded to a report of a man who might be a threat to himself or others. His doctor asked the police to bring him to the hospital for treatment.

Police took him to SOMC for treatment.

Police said the girl was highly intoxicated but her parents were not sure what she had taken. She came home in that state, but they weren’t sure where she was before then.

The girl was combative and had to be restrained. Portsmouth Fire Department medics transported her to the hospital for treatment.

Kids Spotted in Bar

Just after 11 pm, a caller reported minors being served inside Richard Noggins on Gallia Street.

When police arrived on the scene, they were only 6 people in the bar. All were regulars and of age. The bartender did say that two kids attempted to come into the bar earlier but they had been immediately kicked out.

Wanted Man Caught In the Act

Officers were called to 20th Street for a report of a strange man on the porch of a home. The resident was out of town and nobody was supposed to be at the home.

A neighbor contacted the resident who asked her to call the police. The man on the porch had unscrewed the porch lights.

Police caught up with a man with open warrants from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and took him into custody.
