Intoxicated Wheelersburg Mom Crashes on Way To Pick Son Up From School

A mom under the influence crashed her car on her way to pick her son up at a Wheelersburg School, just after 3 pm on Monday.

The crash happened on Pirate Drive near the school. Police said she struck another vehicle, but fortunately, no one was injured.

However, she appeared impaired, and it turned out her blood alcohol was .19, more than double the legal limit.

Deputies said the Ohio State Patrol would handle the OVI charge and that deputies contacted Scioto County Children Protective Services due to the fact the woman was on her way to pick up her son at the time of the crash.

Deputies arranged for family members to pick up the child and the vehicle from the school. OSP arrested the woman for driving under the influence and disorderly conduct.
