Jack Carson Whitt, 90, of Rosemount, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Buckeye Forest At Portsmouth.
He was born February 28, 1933, in Lucasville, a son of the late Claude and Hazel Hamilton Whitt.
Jack was a retired Security Guard from Martin Marietta in Piketon, served as a Trooper for the Ohio State Highway Patrol for 10 years, and was a 13-year United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in West Portsmouth and a 1952 Stockdale High School graduate.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert “Bob” Whitt; and a sister, Mary Buchanan.
Jack is survived by his wife, Alma Jean Nelson Whitt, whom he married August 5, 1978 in Lucasville; three daughters, Jacquie Whitt-Linsly (John) of Virginia Beach, VA, Donna (Ike) Eichenlaub of Mexico, and Lynn (Eric) Kratzer of Otway; one son, David Whitt of Sarasota, Florida; nine grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the Victory Baptist Church in West Portsmouth with Paul Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery where graveside military rites will be performed by the William Baker and James F. Irwin Posts of the American Legion. Friends may call from Noon until the funeral hour Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
