An area man is experiencing a terrible start to the new year. So far, it’s included jail, a stint in rehab, and thieves cleaning out his house.
He showed up to the Sheriff’s Office to explain he’d just gotten out of jail only to come home and find out someone broke into his house and took multiple items. Clothes, tools, and motorcycle accessories were among the stolen goods.
The man, who is currently staying in a local rehab facility, said a female friend told him she knew exactly who broke into his home. She said two men had called to inquire about his 200-piece tool set, which allegedly had the woman’s name engraved on the tools.
He had the witness’s name but not her address or phone number. Deputies said they would contact her to get more information.
