James David Burchett Jr. 48, of West Union passed away unexpectedly on April 3rd, 2026. He was born on November 8th,1977 in Portsmouth, OH a son of the late James Sr. and Carol Burchett.
He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Cecil Obie Newman; grandparents David and Edith Burchett and Earl and Virgie Evans along with an uncle, Earl Evans Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Jessica Hall Burchett; the kids that he raised as his own, Harley (JC) Slusher, Dustin Byrd, Rochelle (Jade) Hall, Shannae Hall (Jole Lewis); mother-in-law Gail Taylor and father-in-law Cliff; brothers, Harlon (Melissa) Burchett and Michael (Rikki) Burchett; brother-in-law Bruce (LaRhonda) Hall; uncles, Rodney (Pam) Evans and Charlie Evans. His grandkids Gauge, Jason, Liam, Haley and Avalon; nephew David (Ariel) and a great nephew Dawson along with many cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday April 7, 2026 at D.W. SWICK & SON FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES in Sciotoville with Donnie Evans officiating. He will be laid to rest at Owl Creek Cemetery with his dad. Visitation will be 12:00 to 1:00 PM Tuesday prior to services.
