James Edward McGraw

James Edward McGraw, 83 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday November 20, 2022 at SOMC Hospice. He was born June 24, 1939 in Friendship to the late Joseph McGraw and Evelyn Jackson Flannery.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Bernie Newman, Fran Smith, and Ruth Knauff.

Jim was a retired construction superintendent and was a member of the Labors Local 83 and the Washington Township Fire Department for 50 years. He was a member of the Dry Run Church of Christ as well as a previous coach for the West Portsmouth Little League Baseball. He also was highly involved with the Santa Express for 40 years and was an avid Buckeye fan. Jim also received the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge Community Service Award.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Diane DeLotelle McGraw whom he married on December 31, 1960, a son Jimmy (Carol) McGraw, 2 daughters, Cheryl (Sam) Yerardi and Cindy Baker (Ray Imhoff), a brother David McGraw, 7 grandchildren, Brittani (Jason) Donahoe, Brianna (Robbie) Steitz, Ryan (Breeanna) McGraw, Rachael McGraw, Brooklynn Baker, Braeden (Katelyn) Baker and Brenson Baker, 8 great-grandchildren, Colt Donahoe, Caston Donahoe, Travis Brown, Brogan Baker, Klynn McGraw, Ryder McGraw, and Ollie and Levi Steitz along with his special lifelong friend Kenny Coleman.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Seevers officiating. Interment will be in Rushtown Cemetery.
