Joshua P. Thurman 44, of Portsmouth, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1978, in Portsmouth a son of Martha (Wallace) Spence of Portsmouth and the late Otis Thurman Sr.
He was a 1997 graduate of Portsmouth High School, he was dedicated to his work, and enjoyed hiking and being out in nature.
Josh is also survived by his wife, Melissa (Bailey) Thurman; two sons, Gabriel Thurman and Kaleb Thurman both of Portsmouth; daughters, Celest Thurman and Lotus Thurman both of Columbus; a sister, Rhonda Thurman of Portsmouth; brother-in-law Eric Bailey and father-in-law Donald Bailey both of Portsmouth.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Otis Thurman Jr. and James Alan Thurman.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2022, at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster. Interment will follow at Scioto Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 1 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
