Judith Ann (Tackett) Phipps, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, at her home in Mt. Perry, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born, November 10th, 1940, to the late Frank and Jimsy (Conley) Tackett of Lucasville, Ohio, where she was raised. Along with her parents, Judy was preceded in death by the love of her life, Clarence Phipps of Mt. Perry, Ohio; 3 brothers, Raymond Tackett, Orville Tackett, James D. Tackett; 3 sisters, Eula Montgomery, Betty Faye Phipps, Laura Johnson; and a son-in-law, Christopher Wright.

During her lifetime, Judy raised 6 children, helped raise 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  She was a true homemaker.  Loving her family and always taking the opportunity to share her love and knowledge of running a household. She was a long-standing member of Big Run United Baptist Church of Lucasville, Ohio.

She is survived by a son, Edward Phipps; 5 daughters, Glenda (Jerry) Grady of Baltimore OH, Alice “Tiny” (Richard) Strawn of Newark OH, Tammy (Rocky “Bull”) Howard of Mt. Perry, OH, Jimsy (Greg) Myers of Heath, OH, Rebecca (Mark) Wheeler of Caldwell, OH; a brother, Rufus (Rita) Tackett of Lucasville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Terry (Frank) Barnett, Ronnie (Amy) Bowers, Alicia (Daniel) Green, April (Joseph) Phillips, Cameron Wray, Katie (Tim) Treadway, Jessica (Josh) Baker, Mindy Robinson, Wesley (Chelsea) Phipps, Blake Phipps, and Madison Wright; 16 great-grandchildren, Hunter Zizek, Josie Zizek, Karisa Bowers, Karlee Bowers, Kaleigh Bowers, Ellie Erwin, Claire Phipps, Bentley Green, Dawson Phillips, Beau Phillips, Wyatt Baker, Ryder Baker, Cooper Baker, Hailey Robinson, Jayce Robinson, Zoey Robinson, Colt Phipps, Hannah Phipps, Raymond Phipps; and many nieces and nephews, she loved like her own, extended family and friends.

Judy lived her life with love, honor, and the mercy of God’s kindness.

Funeral services will be held 12PM Noon, Thursday October 9, 2025, at the Big Run United Baptist Church in Lucasville, officiated by Brother Kelly Carver and Brother Charlie Montgomery and burial to follow at Big Run Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 4PM, Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and will run through until the funeral hour on Thursday.  Condolences may be sent to rogerwdavisfuneral.com.
