Sex Offender Busted

Four police units responded to 6th Street at 9:31 am. Officers arrested a man who had failed to register as a sex offender and took him into custody on two other warrants.

Put Down The Phone, Kid

At 10:40 am, officers dealt with a little boy who wouldn’t stop calling 911. He was advised to stop it.

The child was back at it calling 911 at noon. Officers advised his mom that if she keeps letting the kids call 911, she’ll be charged.

Police then sent the kids inside and advised the woman about an open warrant. The woman said she already knew about it.

Mom Says Pair Offered Her Child Drugs

A Robinson Avenue Mom contacted police just before 5 pm to report that a man offered her child drugs at a nearby home.

The man and a female companion agreed to let police search for drugs and officers found nothing. Offices discovered the two had open warrants but they were out of pick-up range.

The pair requested a ride to the closest gas station and officers dropped them off at the Valero.

Jumper Rescued From Ohio River

Just after 5 pm, police responded to a report of a woman attempting to jump off the Grant Bridge.

She leaped into the Ohio River and first responders dispatched a boat to rescue her. The fire department pulled her from the river and police assisted.

An air ambulance transported the woman to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Directly To Jail

While on foot patrol on Wayne Avenue, an officer discovered an individual with an open warrant from New Boston. Police took the woman into custody at 11 pm and booked her, then brought her back home.

Fifteen minutes later, a foot patrol officer took a man into custody and impounded his vehicle.
