Karrie Sue (Piatt) Crumm, 60, of Port Charlotte Florida, formerly of Wheelersburg, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Venice Hospice House. She was born in Portsmouth, August 15, 1962 to Gerald R. Piatt and the late Cuba Marie (Payne) Piatt.
After graduating from Northwest High School, Karrie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rio Grande University. She worked as a registered nurse for 38 years at Kings Daughter’s Medical Center and Southern Ohio Medical Center. Before moving to Florida Karrie attended the Rock Church in Wheelersburg. She loved to shop, going to flea markets and thriftstores. Karrie also loved to take walks.
Karrie is survived by her father Gerald Piatt of Wheelersburg; her husband Mark Crumm of Port Charlotte, Fl; a son, Kurtis Crumm of Portsmouth; a sister, Cindy Piatt of Wheelersburg; childhood friend, Carla Butler. She was preceded in death by two sons, Kent Piatt and Robert Crumm; her mother, Cuba Piatt; and her grandparents, Gerald and Alma Piatt.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Friday, May 19, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor Rick Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park.
