Kids Get Into Dangerous Drugs- CPS Refuses Police Request

CPS Refuses Police Request

A frightening report about kids being exposed to dangerous drugs on Sunday afternoon. A caller told police that a boyfriend brought drugs into a Thomas Avenue apartment and that two small children, aged 5 and 2, got into the drugs.

The caller said the man had already left the scene. According to the police log, an officer left a message and Scioto County CPS and the agency got back to them about 10 minutes later.

CPS declined to respond to the scene. Officers said they would forward any evidence uncovered during the investigation to the agency.

Police took information for a report.

We reported on a similar situation just 7 days ago.

In that case, a teenager reported a troubling situation at home to the Sheriff’s Office. Her dad called her and cursed at her at work. According to her, he had been verbally abusive to her for several days, and she didn’t feel safe returning home.

CPS told the deputy they couldn’t do anything about the situation that night or take the girl out of the residence, but they would do a follow-up investigation the following morning.

The girl’s manager at work offered to let her stay the night, but her father refused.

She was told to go home and call 911 if things got out of hand.
