Kristopher Burgess, 47, of West Portsmouth, passed away February 5, 2026, at his residence. He was born September 9, 1978, in Portsmouth to John Burgess II and the late Linda Kaye (Pollard) Burgess. Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He was a 1997 graduate of Portsmouth West High School and was a dedicated member of the Rome Masonic Lodge. Kristopher valued the principles of brotherhood, charity, and integrity that the Lodge represents. He showed his care for others not in grand gestures, but in steady and genuine ways through conversation, encouragement, and a quiet willingness to be there when someone needed him. His kindness was simple, sincere, and deeply felt by those who knew him.
He is survived by his father, John Burgess II; two brothers, Jason (MyLam Thai) Burgess and Johnny Burgess III; a nephew, Dustin Lee (Meagan) Burgess; several great nieces and nephews; a special Aunt Norma Ferry; cousin, Dannelle Pistole; and many other special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who will cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, beginning with a Masonic Service conducted by the Rome Masonic Lodge.
