Kroger Employee Tussles With Shoplifter

Kroger inside

While many of us are satisfied with the discounts available by using your Kroger card, others prefer a 100% discount and continue to plague the Gay Street store with shoplifting attempts, some of them more successful than others.

Just after 2 a.m., employees reported that a man in a grey tank top attempted to steal multiple items from inside the store.

An employee tussled with the man who fled toward Tracy Park carrying a black trash bag. Officers could not locate the suspect.

As in most cases, after SCDN intervened, the store now declines to chase suspects into the streets. That’s why you now see the mobile camera systems in the parking lot. Instead, they asked officers to trespass the man from the store.

Officers were called back to Kroger later in the day after a woman claimed a dog nearly bit her in the parking lot. However, once officers arrived at the store, they learned the dog was inside a vehicle on a leash and the woman was frightened when it barked at her.
