Landlord Says Tenant Left House in Nightmare Condition

A Portsmouth property owner asked police to document what he described as extensive damage left behind by a tenant who is in the process of moving out of a Grant Street residence. According to the police report, one of the owners of the property contacted Portsmouth police to create a record of the condition of the home. 🏠 "COMPLETELY REMODELED" BEFORE TENANT MOVED IN The owner told officers the house had been completely remodeled last year before the tenant moved into the property. Now, as the lease nears expiration and the tenant moves out, the owner claims the home has suffered extensive damage. According to the report, the owner described the residence as being in "terrible condition." 🚨 DAMAGE ALLEGEDLY THROUGHOUT THE HOME The owner reported finding: Human feces on walls Large amounts of trash throughout the residence Significant insect infestations Damage to electrical systems Damage to HVAC equipment Unsanitary living conditions The report also noted allegations of widespread roach and bed bug infestations inside the home. Police were not called to make an arrest but rather to document the property's condition. ⚖️ WHY LANDLORDS REQUEST THESE REPORTS Property owners often request police documentation when they believe substantial damage has occurred to a rental property.
