Large Fight at Sonora’s Gets CPS Involved

On Sunday evening, Portsmouth Police responded to a report of a large fight outside Sonora’s restaurant at 17th Street and Grandview Avenue just after 6 pm.

At least one person on the scene needed medical attention.

A witness provided police with information and at least two individuals were detained.

It was reported to CPS that juveniles were involved in the incident.

Despite the identification of a victim, SCDN is withholding the victim’s identity since we are unable to determine whether or not it is a juvenile.

After this article was first published, we received credible information that a baby was dropped to the concrete at the onset of this fight.

According to those reports, “The baby boy is at the hospital with his mom and dad”.

SCDN has since learned that the child is 3 years old and has sustained a head concussion. Further, the fight was reportedly started among other family members.

We expect to see a couple of mugshots resulting from this ugly, ugly incident.

SCDN will update this article when our record requests are received from the Portsmouth Police Department.
