Larry Gordon Eldridge, 77 years old, resident of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday January 10th, 2025, at the Ohio State James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Portsmouth on August 4th, 1947, to the Jesse Eldridge and Colleen (Nee Shedd) Ramey.
Larry graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1966. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam and retired from the Navy Reserve. Larry was employed at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Piketon Ohio, retiring in 2012 as the Instrument & Calibrations and Electrical maintenance Group Manager. He was a member of the American Legion and of the Aurora Masonic Lodge #48 F & AM.
Surviving are his children: Michael Eldridge of Portsmouth, and Stacy (Doug) Shoemaker of Chillicothe; his longtime partner, Linda Holbrook of Chillicothe, three grandchildren: Matthew Long, Cami and Logan Shoemaker; brother-in-law, Henry Applegate of Portsmouth; sister-in-law, Donna Eldridge of New Boston; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Preceding Larry in death were his parents Jesse Eldridge and Colleen (Nee Shedd) Ramey and siblings: Gary Eldridge, Jack Eldridge, Teresa Applegate and Connie Eldridge.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 4:00 to 5:30 PM
Aurora Masonic Lodge #48 F & AM Service 5:30 PM, immediately following will be Military Honors from the American Legion James Dickey Post #23, all at
FC Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662.
