Larry Weaver Jr.: Charges Dismissed Without Prejudice

Larry Weaver Jr.: Charges Dismissed Without Prejudice

The court dismissed many charges against Larry Weaver Jr. These charges included Child Endangerment, 2 counts of Drug Abuse, and 3 counts of Drug Trafficking.

On January 6th, detectives recovered 29 grams of Meth (Ice), 13 grams of Heroin/Fentanyl, marijuana, scales, a firearm, and $4,200 in cash. Investigations into the suspicious death of 20-month-old Zariah Malee Greene led to the searches of the homes.

Officers also confiscated electronic devices belonging to the mother, Kristina Edwards, 36, of Charles Street, and Larry Weaver for processing.

Grand Jury Indictments are required in Ohio for felony charges.

In this case, the charges against Edwards are legally considered waived and will be considered by the Grand Jury. Those against Weaver, however, were dismissed. This action was taken by the judge as a result of his insistence on a speedy trial.

Under Ohio law, a felony trial must occur within 270 days following an arrest. The process will likely take longer in this case due to the complexity of the charges.

A probation violation has kept Weaver in jail without bond. It will be up to the Grand Jury to decide his charges.

A last-minute turn of events caused Kristina Edwards to be charged today with the conveyance of contraband into a detention facility.

A candlelight vigil for Zariah was held at Spartan Stadium on Friday evening.
