Leslie Junior Monroe, 73 of Otway, died Monday, June 1, 2020, at SOMC Hospice. He was born May 12, 1947, in Garrison, Kentucky to the late Noble and Sylvia Hammonds Monroe. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Monroe, and a sister, Janet Craft.
Leslie is survived by his son, Leslie Monroe II; 2 daughters, Tammy Morris and Teresa Rister; 5 brothers, Buddy, Roger, William, Ricky, and Billy Monroe; 7 sisters, Judy Journey, Lydia Stockham, Betty Gamble, Donna Priode, Joyce Scott, Patricia Monroe, and Sandy May; 9 grandchildren, Natacha, Melissa, Justin, Kelly, Constance, Sadie, Derek, Tierra, and Cierra, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, June 8, 2020, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Gary Newman officiating and interment in Stoney Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday starting at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the funeral home.
