The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting a tragic incident that occurred on state Route 7 in Meigs County on Monday afternoon, resulting in the loss of a teenager’s life.
The crash took place around 1:15 p.m. near mile-marker 21 in Orange Township.
The victim has been identified as Taylor Shaffer, a 19-year-old resident of Shade, Ohio. Tragically, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to authorities, Shaffer was traveling south when a Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by a 31-year-old man from Eastview, Kentucky, crossed the center line and collided head-on with her vehicle.
In the aftermath, the driver of the Ram, along with two other individuals, including a child, were transported to the hospital for injuries that are fortunately not considered life-threatening.
