Linda Gayle Bender 81 Rosemount

Linda Gayle Bender

After a long and courageous battle with MS, Linda was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with her mother, Geneva and husband, Brent, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Linda is lovingly remembered by her only child Sarah (Kyle) Blevings, grandchildren: Brent, Olivia, Aurora and Huxlee.

Words cannot describe how devoted and wonderful Linda was as a mother. Her love for Sarah and her grandchildren was larger than life.

Linda taught for over 20 years at Minford Schools, where she touched the lives of many students and colleagues. She was avid about her health and fitness. She was a runner and taught Jazzercise for many years. Linda earned her master’s in education from Ohio University, while going through her MS diagnosis.

She was strong-willed and kept pushing through her struggles with MS, she found ways to work around it. There may have been a few occasions in Sarah’s teenage years that she would retreat up to her upstairs bedroom, but Linda would sit on the steps and push herself up, one by one, to get in the last word

There are many memories of “Who gets to push Mrs. Bender outside on her walker during fire drills at school?” or using her fold up cane as a light saber. She rarely complained about what was happening to her body and made the best out of the deck of cards she was dealt.

Mom, I love and admire you! I hope I can be half the woman you were. Thank you for raising me to be independent and strong for when this day would come. As God promises, we will be reunited one day. Love, Sarah

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you do something that would make Linda smile. Such as, donate to an animal shelter, send a gift card to your child’s teacher for school supplies, DoorDash someone food to a nursing home (if you know about this one, you know Linda).

Linda will be laid to rest following cremation, with her husband, Brent in Bennett Cemetery, Minford as well as with her mother Geneva, in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Franklin Furnace.
