Local Facebook Truck Sale Sticks Man With Hefty Traffic Fines
A no-questions-asked Facebook Marketplace sale ended up costing a man more than he made, and the costs are still piling up.
The man said he gave his neighbor $500 to clean his truck and sell it on Facebook, then an unknown man bought the truck for cash.
However, the seller didn’t get his name, address, or phone number and didn’t bother doing a title transfer. He also let the man drive off with his tags on the truck. The buyer promised to mail them back to him.
Now, the seller is getting bills from the Delaware River and Bay Authority and the New Jersey Turnpike for unpaid tickets.
Police advised him to call the DMV, cancel his tags, and contact an attorney about the title.
