Loose Dog Attacks Pedestrian on 17th Street

Just after 4 pm, officers received a report that a strange dog was on the porch of a 17th Street home. The caller said the animal had attempted to attack a passerby.

Animal Control responded to the scene and retrieved the dog.

Animal Control officers also attempted to follow up on some dogs left in the basement of an empty home on the Scioto Trail. Yesterday, someone spotted the door of the place kicked in, and alerted the police. Neighbors told the officer the residents moved out and left the dogs behind.

Animal Control responded to the scene with Code Enforcement and Adult Probation and discovered that the broken door had been resecured and a fridge pushed in front of it. No one answered the door and adult probation was not comfortable forcing entry.
