Lorie Ann (Babcock) Hawkins

Lorie Ann (Babcock) Hawkins age 55 years, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023, at Bridgeport Nursing Home in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Lorie was born August 18, 1967, in Defiance, Ohio to her parents Evelyn Marlene and Robert Lee Babcock Sr.

Lorie was preceded in death by her parents Evelyn and Robert, her stepmom Marie (Relyea) Babcock, brother Steven Ray Babcock, Aunt Leota Anderson, Uncles Fred, Alvin, and Floyd Hamman, Granny Marge Hamman, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lorie is survived by her daughter and granddaughter Amanda and Sandra Rutherford, Husband of 22 years Robert Hawkins (and family), Brother Robert Babcock, Jr., Aunt Diane Juarez (and family), Uncle Steve Anderson, Aunts Linda and Belinda Hamman (and family) Niece Alisha McMaster (and family), Nephew Steven Ray Babcock, Jr. and many more friends and family.

Lorie loved Nascar and especially her favorite driver Dale Earnhardt Sr, you could always find her in front of the tv when the race was on yelling for everyone to get out “her mans” way. She also loved to crochet and do many other arts and crafts things, but crocheting was by far her favorite pastime.

She was all about her daughter and granddaughter talking about them to anyone that would listen. She was a kind, good-hearted person that would give you the shirt off her back if she could, but above all family was her favorite thing to be involved in whether it was a cookout, just hanging out or whatever the day brought you could always find her with her family.

Lorie will be sadly missed by all that knew her, and anyone that knows her, knows that there’s no one else like her.

Lories final resting place is where she felt most at home, with her family.

A memorial service is being planned for her friends and family in West Virginia, and also Ohio. Both will be announced at a later date and time.
