Lucasville Church of God Temporarily Closed

Lucasville Church of God Temporarily Closed. Shortly after this story posted, the Scioto EMA Director, Larry Mullins, issued a statement. Read that here.

Pastor Ronnie Johnson of the Lucasville Church of God made a public announcement on Friday evening regarding their recent Vacation Bible School as well as some issues with COVID that have affected their congregation.

Here is his statement to the public.

I’m just coming to you on Facebook to let you guys know that we had VBS and had a great turnout. But through this, we’ve had some people come back that has tested positive for COVID-19. It’s something we don’t want to hear, something we don’t want to look at, some people’s even posted some bad things. But, we’re doing everything we can possibly do to keep this spread from moving on. There’s been people that’s not been (at) our church that’s tested positive people that have been at our church has tested positive. The health department has come in and talked to us and I’ve talked to the state office. I think what we’re going to do is go back like we did a couple of months ago. We’re gonna go live stream on you know when we can and try to get through this.

So keep informed that we’re here if you need us for anything. We’re going to be here. We will come to you. We will meet you. We will pray with you. If there’s anything else that we can do, please contact us. This is something I do not want to do. This is something that is over our head and they’re are kind of pushing the issue on it. So as of July the 26th, the first Sunday, since this has happened, we will be closed down.

In two weeks, whatever that falls on, we will reevaluate this. Check with a community and the people that are at our church and see where we stand with this. If everything looks good, We will be opening the doors up and hopefully to push forward even harder than we’ve been doing. I know we’ve seen people saved. I know we’ve seen people baptized, and people been wanting to come to our church.

I don’t want to close the doors. It’s never been in my vocabulary, but it is now.

So I hope that we’ll do this, get through this strong. Don’t be pointing fingers and blaming people or taking the blame on yourself. We’ve all had, we’ve all been around it and probably didn’t even realize it. One thing about it is we don’t want it to continue. We are praying for each and every one that has it. We’re praying for each and every one that doesn’t have that they don’t get it. Hopefully, we get through this, but if anybody needs me for anything, you know how to contact me. I don’t do good texting, with bad words being said. If you want to call me. I’ll talk to you. I’ll meet with you and do whatever. As the Lucasville pastor, we love you. We’re here for you. And we will get through this. So please hold your head up, stay in contact with everybody. And let’s move forward.
