Man Arrested For Assaulting Officer

A suspect on the run caused damage to a Scioto County Sheriff’s Office cruiser on Sunday Morning.

Just after 1 am, a deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle on Richards Road, the driver did not stop, instead pulling into a residence and fleeing on foot. He did not put the truck in park and rolled back and hit the front of the cruiser.

Deputies determined the driver had open warrants through the SCSO and NBPD. Officers arranged to have the truck towed. When officers caught up with the driver, Michael Bailey, they hit him with a long list of charges, including:

Four counts of assault on a law enforcement officer, operating a vehicle under the influence, resisting arrest, felonious assault, three counts of violating a protection order, failure to comply with police business, and obstructing official business.

This was his 12th trip to the Scioto County Jail. Previous charges include theft, criminal trespass, vandalism, weapons under a disability, contempt, assault, and disorderly conduct.

Bailey is currently sitting in the Scioto County Jail on a $65,200 bond.
