Man Assaults SOMC Security Guard
Portsmouth Police Officers responded to the Main Campus of Southern Ohio Medical Center after a report that a man assaulted a security guard came in just before 10 am.
Officers took a man into custody but later released him after learning he was on a psychiatric hold, and the social worker did not want the man charged.
However, police learned he was wanted on a different charge and took him into custody on that warrant.
Bicyclist Hit By Car on 3rd Street
Officers and EMS units responded to the scene after a report that a car hit a person on a bicycle at 3rd and Washington. The ambulance left after the patient refused treatment, and officers took information for a report.
Just a few minutes later, another patient refused treatment after a call came in for someone having an asthma attack in a garage on 6th Street. When police arrived on the scene, the patient refused transport.
Dump Truck & Catalytic Converters Stolen From Hayport Road
Thieves hit Hayport Road on Monday morning. Just after 10 am, officers got a report that thieve stole a dump truck and cut the catalytic converter off several other vehicles.
The crooks also made off with several other items. Deputies took information for a report.
