Man Barricades Self in Home With Blow Torch
Just after 8 pm, Adams County Deputies requested help dealing with a man barricaded in his Churn Creek Run home with a blow torch.
The man had previously set stuff on fire near his neighbor’s house and tried to burn their dog with a flame thrower.
Officers arrived on the scene, put out the fire, and spoke with the man until Adams County officers could arrive.
Man Passes Out Behind Wheel – Arrested for 17th Time
A man with a long history of arrests landed back behind bars after an incident on Tuesday afternoon. Police responded to Gallia Street after a business reported a woman wandering around their property, saying that something had happened to her.
Officers caught up with the woman on Mabert Road. She said her husband kicked her out of their car and left.
Police received a separate call about a man passed out in a vehicle on Mabert Road and discovered it was the guy from the first incident.
The wife did not wish to file charges. However, police learned there was an open warrant for the man. They took him into custody for a probation violation and dropped him off at the Scioto County Jail.
This was his 17th arrest. Previous charges include domestic threats, multiple probation violations, petty theft, breaking and entering, tampering with evidence, and criminal damaging.
Child Found Wandering on Highland Avenue
Just before 5 pm, a Highland Street neighbor reported finding a little boy wandering in the neighborhood.
Officers returned the child to a McConnel Street home. The mother advised the child’s sister had opened the door and let the boy out while she was doing laundry.
