Man Busted for 31st Time After Kicking Mom’s Car

A High Street caller contacted police at 8:25 pm to report a man had kicked a vehicle and was now walking towards Summit Street. 

Officers caught up with James Thomas a few minutes later and arrested him for probation violation, though his mother declined to file a criminal damaging report for the car incident. 

This was the 31st time the 42-year-old man has been in the Scioto County Jail. 

In 2022, police arrested him four times on charges including probation violation, resisting arrest, criminal damaging, and obstructing official business. 

Car Takes Out Utility Pole on Gallia Street

Just before 11 pm, a car slammed into a pole in the 3100 block of Gallia Street, knocking live electric lines down into the road.

Dispatch contacted AEP, who had workers on the scene within 10 minutes. Police took information for a report and arranged to have the damaged vehicle towed away.
