Man Busted For Sexually Assaulting Middle-Schooler Released Without Bond

An Otway, Ohio man was arrested after a disturbing report of a sex assault on a middle-school girl. However, he was almost immediately released without bond.

According to Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman, his office first learned of the sickening allegations back on March 21, when a local middle school contacted law enforcement to report a possible sexual assault on a child.

Deputies immediately responded to the school to investigate. When the child spoke with officers, she reported that an adult male had sexually assaulted her on several occasions.

Scioto County Children Services responded to the girl’s home and removed two children as a safety precaution. The Scioto County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and the sheriff’s office began an investigation into the allegations.

Sheriff Thoroughman said his agency brought a 19-year-old Otway man in for questioning as a result of that investigation. Law enforcement then arrested and charged Eian Robinson, of Otway with 3 counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

He was booked into the Scioto County Jail but released that same day on his own recognizance. Robinson appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

The sheriff said the investigation is ongoing and that more charges will be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury at a later date.
