Man Claims Kroger Employee Injured Him With Scooter

A man contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at 8 a.m. to report he was injured after an employee at the Wheelersburg Kroger hit him with a mobility scooter the previous evening

The man said an employee driving the scooter hit him, parked the scooter, and walked back into the store. In his opinion, the employee was playing on the scooter.

He said he’d already gone to the customer service desk at Kroger that morning, and they said they would speak to the employee when they got to work.

The man went to urgent care, where they told him nothing was broken, he had bruising and gave him a shot.

When a deputy spoke to the store manager, they were able to pull up the footage. The video showed the incident was accidental and that the employee stopped and spoke to the injured man before putting the scooter away. Officers determined nothing criminal happened but advised the manager to make copies of the video.
