Officers investigated a bizarre incident on Cherry Street in Sciotoville just before 4 am. A man, who appeared to be impaired, called 911 to say someone tried to come through his roof and chop up his dog. He claimed he fled the home on foot.
Officers learned there was a TPO served against the man, and he wasn’t allowed to be at that address.
When a deputy headed to the home, he found an open door and several dogs, but dogs would not allow him to get close to the house at first. The officer noted there was crime scene tape on the porch.
Dispatch had sent an ambulance to the home a few days before after the caller overdosed. However, a neighbor gave him Narcan, and he canceled.
A deputy managed to secure the dogs and began to search the home. They noted the door had no knobs and was secured with strings.
Officers spoke to the man and advised him was not allowed in the home and would be arrested if he returned. He sent a friend to fetch his things.
